Caning Able grew out of my boredom with traditional, classical erotica. I was taking a break from Shoe Leather's endless rejections and figured I'd write a basic erotic novel. I did a bit of research, reading some of the old stuff and modern entries, and I figured they were all ripe for a piss-taking - while still being erotic. I wanted to write a good old spanking/C.P. novel, updated for the times, that didn't take itself too seriously. At the same time as all this was transpiring in my authorial world, in my rocket science world I was being made to sit through endless, jargon laden leadership/motivational/latest biz theory seminars. I'd also just watched Lord of the Flies and figured there's the basic vehicle - a "motivational school" that regresses burned out executives back to their schoolboy/girl days to teach them the latest in biz tactics - while of course secretly filming the whole thing for "amateur" porn. This allowed me to indulge my deep-seated fantasies for school teachers and schoolgirl uniforms - and I added the twist of having a woman overcome all these traditional male-dominated institutions and plot staples of classical erotica to reign triumphant. I also broke many of the rules of SM in which doms would never have sex with their subjects for which at least one respected reviewer has taken me to task. While I understand that in the confines of the SM world - this is indeed true - it was a definite, conscious decision of mine - I wasn't writing a SM book - I was writing a sex book - and it made perfect sense to me that Jasmine Able would celebrate her victory by fucking the class senseless on her terms as a demonstration of her power to do whatever she now wants - and if that includes using the graduating male class as a fuckfest - why not?

One thing about Caning Able I did not like - the cover - it's a pet peeve of mine - when it comes to genre erotica - authors get no say - and the cover of Caning Able bears no resemblance to the content. It features a head shot of a cheesy voluptuous model. I could have done so much better - and I would - for free - but erotica publishers are convinced they know what sells the books - apparently it's not the cover - as I've received more complaints about my covers than what's inside.
